“I start on Volodymyrska Street at 09:00, before the bell tower opens. We walk 1.2 km to the courtyard, then sit in the shade while I explain the frescoes. The museum rooms open at 10:30 and we are inside four minutes later. Nobody queues, because the tickets are already in my folder.”

Practical terms

Fitness, kit and the fine print before you book

Every tour is presented as a daily ledger with time-stamped stops, so walking distance, pace and rest points are known before you commit.

Fitness level

City walks
Easy to moderate. 09:00 start, 3 to 6 km per day on pavement and cobblestone, with seated breaks roughly every 90 minutes.
Museum visits
Low intensity. Mostly standing, 2 to 3 hours indoors, with pre-arranged 11:30 entry slots where the venue allows tickets in advance.
Stairs and slopes
Occasional. Up to 120 steps inside historic buildings and old-town ascents; lifts are not available in every venue.

What to bring

  • Broken-in walking shoes with grip, not a new pair.
  • Layered clothing and a light rain shell, since days are planned outdoors first.
  • Reusable water bottle of at least 0.7 L.
  • Passport or ID card for museum ticket checks and group admissions.
  • A small day pack. Large luggage stays at the hotel during walks.
